VENDOR INTERVIEW
“When we first approached Ashdown nearly 9 years ago, we were immediately taken by the large front lawn and the well-kept shrubs and bushes. The ‘in and out’ drive was a big benefit too and we knew it would be a perfect home for us,” recall the current owners.

“The location has been ideal too. Set on a no through road, it’s very peaceful and quiet and we only ever see the occasional dog walker pass by. There is a great choice of restaurants and takeaways in nearby Longfield, as well as a lovely country restaurant pub, complete with duck pond. We often pop to the shops on the high street and our grandchildren love to feed the ducks, so it’s a nice day out for us all. I tend to go to Bluewater Shopping Centre quite a lot as it is just a short drive away and it’s so easy to get there.”

“We’ve made a number of enhancements to Ashdown during our time here, but I think my favourite change has to be the kitchen. It’s full of all the ‘mod cons’, including the induction hob and hot tap, heated floor tiles which are just brilliant! Our family tend to gravitate to the breakfast bar when they visit and it’s a lovely place to sit with a cup of coffee and look out over the beautiful garden.”

“The garden is very peaceful, and we are not overlooked at all. Our grandchildren love to play on the lawn, and they also have their own play area complete. It’s a very sunny garden and I have a couple of favourite spots where I like to sunbathe and relax in the peace and quiet. It’s a great space for entertaining with our family at the big table on the patio. We’ve also hosted lots of family gatherings, including a 30th birthday where we celebrated with a rodeo bull on the lawn, hog roast and music on the patio. Perfect!”

Favourite room
“It’s hard to choose just one favourite room but the front room is very special. It’s split level with bifold doors leading to the garden and it’s the ideal spot to sit and relax with a good book.”

Favourite aspect of the grounds or surrounding area
“It feels like we have arrived into our own private little haven every time we come home from a busy day at work.”

Memorable event
“We celebrated my father in law’s 75 birthday with a big family get together, along with a tribute singer and marquee in the garden.”

What they’ll miss most / why they are leaving
“We love where we live as the house and the location are brilliant. We will miss it all and we feel lucky to have lived in such a great house with perfectly sized rooms, but we are moving on for work purposes.”
